The projects
War, AIDS and disease associated with poverty have left many children from the Kichwamba district without parents or with parents too sick to care for them. The Mpora Rural Family Home, founded in 1987, originally set out to provide children with opportunities to get an education and break the cycle of poverty in their own families. It has since grown and responded to the local communities needs in many ways.
The projects include:
- Child sponsorship programme
- Building community resources
- Sustainable farming and agriculture techniques
- Local employment
